The game between closely ranked teams ended with fourth ranked Frankivsk's (11-8) home victory over 5th ranked Chaika (10-10) 81-57 on Saturday. The game without a history. Frankivsk led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Chaika to just 7 points in third quarter. Frankivsk made 28-of-33 free shots (84.8 percent) during the game, while Chaika only scored twelve points from the stripe. Frankivsk forced 23 Chaika turnovers and outrebounded them 45-33 including 19 on the offensive glass. Chaika was plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. Forward Anastasiia Sydorak (172-99) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds (made all of her eight free throws) for the winners and the former international forward Olena Ogorodnikova (187-81) chipped in 13 points and 11 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Frankivsk moved-up to third place. Frankivsk will face bottom-ranked Kozachka-KPU (#9) in Zaporozhye in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game.
