Regular Season Round 21: ETB Wohnbau - Bernau 67-94

No shocking result in a game in Essen where second ranked SSV Lok Bernau (14-7) smashed 12th ranked ETB Wohnbau (3-18) 94-67 on Saturday. SSV Lok Bernau made 18-of-21 free shots (85.7 percent) during the game. They also forced 20 ETB Wohnbau turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. The best player for the winners was American power forward Quadir Welton (203-95, college: St.Peter's) who scored 21 points and 4 assists (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field). Point guard Jonas Mattisseck (194-0) chipped in 16 points and 7 assists. Five SSV Lok Bernau players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Andre Calvin (201-85, college: Drake) who recorded 24 points and 5 rebounds and British forward Joseph Hart (194-93) added 7 points and 4 steals respectively. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. The victory was the tenth consecutive win for SSV Lok Bernau. They maintain second place in North with 14-7 record having six points less than leader Bayer Giants, which they share with Rist Wedel. ETB Wohnbau lost their thirteenth game in a row. They keep the twelfth position with 18 games lost. SSV Lok Bernau will face Herzoege Wolfenbuettel (#11) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. ETB Wohnbau will play against the league's leader Muenster and hope to win that game.
