Very expected game in Hamburg where 9th ranked Eagles BA (2-10) was crushed by fifth ranked Piraten (7-5) 102-58 on Saturday. Piraten dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Eagles BA's 24. Piraten forced 27 Eagles BA turnovers and outrebounded them 57-29 including a 25-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of Linus Hoffmann (198-2) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 18 points and 16 rebounds and point guard Justus Hollatz (191-1) who added 13 points, 11 rebounds, 8 assists and 4 steals during the contest. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Piraten have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place in Group 1, which they share with AB Baskets. Eagles BA lost eighth consecutive game. They keep the ninth position with ten games lost. Piraten will face higher ranked Rostock Seawolves (#3) on the road in the next round and it may be the game of the week.
