Round in LPB means a new league leader. The biggest surprise took place in Oliveira where host Oliveirense (17-1) beat league's leader Benfica (16-2) 92-82 on Saturday evening. It was a key game for the top position in the league. The best player for the winners was American forward James Ellisor (195-90, college: Bemidji St.) who scored 36 points (!!!). Belgian forward Thomas De-Thaey (203-91, college: NC State) chipped in a double-double by scoring 13 points and 17 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Micah Downs (203-86, college: Gonzaga) who recorded 17 points and 8 rebounds and power forward Goncalo Delgado (204-98) added 15 points and 8 rebounds respectively. Four Benfica players scored in double figures. Oliveirense have an impressive nine-game winning streak. Defending champion keeps a position of league leader. Benfica at the other side dropped to the second place with two games lost. They were replaced at the leadership position by Oliveirense. Benfica will play next round against Galitos-Barreiro trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Oliveirense will try to continue on its current victory against eleventh ranked Galitos-Barreiro on the road.
