Regular Season Round 21: Neustadt TSV - Langenhagen 109-102

There was a minor upset when 7th ranked Langenhagen (10-11) was defeated on the road by ninth ranked Neustadt TSV (10-10) 109-102 on Saturday. Neustadt TSV made 27-of-31 free shots (87.1 percent) during the game, while Langenhagen only scored eight points from the stripe. Langenhagen was plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was Mubarak Salami (197-96) who had a double-double by scoring 34 points (!!!), 10 rebounds and 4 assists. British guard Rishi Kakad (188-87, college: Hawaii Pacific) chipped in 22 points. At the other side the best for losing team was point guard Arthur Zaletskiy (183-94) who recorded 37 points (!!!) and American forward Michael Harvey (196-90, college: Portland St.) added 20 points and 4 assists respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Neustadt TSV moved-up to seventh place in North, which they share with Wusterhausen. Langenhagen lost their fourth game in a row. Newly promoted team dropped to the ninth position with 11 games lost. Neustadt TSV will face ALBA-2 (#15) in Berlin in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Langenhagen will play at home against the league's second-placed RSV Eintracht (#2) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
