Regular Season Round 21: Vechta II - Rendsburg 101-75

There was an upset when higher ranked Rendsburg (11-10) was crushed on the road by tenth ranked Vechta-2 (9-10) 101-75 on Saturday. Vechta-2 looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Rendsburg's players. The best player for the winners was international Philipp Herkenhoff (208-99) who scored 22 points and 9 rebounds. Tim Insinger (205-97) chipped in 18 points and 6 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). At the other side the best for losing team was forward Henning Rixen (196-99) who recorded 19 points and 5 rebounds and American forward Pierce Cumpstone (203-94, college: Stonehill) added 17 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Vechta-2 maintains tenth place in North with 9-10 record. Rendsburg lost their third game in a row. They dropped to the sixth position with ten games lost. Vechta-2 will face Aschersleben (#13) on the road in the next round.
