Regular Season Round 19: Lions - Blackbirds 73-88

The biggest surprise of round 19 was guest Blackbirds' (14-5) easy road victory over Lions (#4) 88-73 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Lions. The game without a history. Blackbirds led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Croatian center Marko Moric (205-81) fired 19 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. International forward Sebastian Koch (202-88) chipped in 9 points and 8 rebounds. Spanish forward Javier Medori (202-93) produced a double-double by scoring 23 points and 10 rebounds and Timur Bas (200-94, college: Walsh) added 12 points and 4 assists respectively for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Blackbirds moved-up to second place, which they share with Raiders. Lions at the other side keep the fourth position with six games lost. Blackbirds is looking forward to face Flames (#7) in Vienna in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Lions will play on the road against the league's leader Rocks in Mattersburg and are hoping to prove to their supporters that the loss was just an accident.
