Regular Season Round 21: Leitershofen - Schwabing 93-88

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Diedorf. Second ranked Topstar faced 4th placed Schwabing. Host Topstar (14-5) defeated guests from Schwabing (10-8) 93-88. They outrebounded Schwabing 40-28 including a 20-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. Topstar players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Schwabing's players. It was a good game for American point guard CJ Carr (173-95, college: Missouri So.) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 30 points, 8 rebounds, 11 assists and 4 steals. Bernhard Benke (206-97) contributed with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 15 rebounds for the winners. Naturalized British point guard Justin Hedley (191-96) answered with 21 points and 7 rebounds and Isaiah Ihnen (205-0) added 24 points in the effort for Schwabing. Five Topstar and four Schwabing players scored in double figures. Schwabing's coach Robert Scheinberg tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Topstar maintains second place in South-East with 14-5 record having four points less than leader Duesseldorf. Schwabing at the other side dropped to the sixth position with eight games lost. Topstar will play against league's leader Oberhaching in Deisenhofen in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Schwabing will play at home against Bad Aibling (#12) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
