Regular Season Round 21: Herford - Kamp-Lintfort 96-63

There was no surprise when 14th ranked Kamp-Lintfort (2-18) was crushed on the road by sixth ranked Herford (14-6) 96-63 on Saturday. Herford dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Kamp-Lintfort's 28 and made 18-of-21 free shots (85.7 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was Lithuanian forward Vaidotas Volkus (203-85, college: Redlands CC) who had a double-double by scoring 29 points, 14 rebounds and 5 assists (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line). Forward Jan Brinkmann (201-91) chipped in a double-double by scoring 19 points and 12 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was point guard Lennard Schild (190-1) who recorded a double-double by scoring 15 points, 17 rebounds and 4 assists and point guard Leutrim Ebiballari (184-99) added 13 points respectively. Five Herford and four Kamp-Lintfort players scored in double figures. Herford moved-up to third place in West, which they share with Dorsten and Hagen BG. Kamp-Lintfort lost their third game in a row. They keep the fourteenth position with 18 games lost. Herford will face Hagen-Haspe (#9) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Kamp-Lintfort will play against Leverkusen FB (#11) and hope to win that game.
