Leader Rocks delivered the sixteenth victory on Saturday night. This time they crushed 8th ranked Worthersee Piraten (8-11) 79-59 in Klagenfurt. The game was mostly controlled by Rocks. Worthersee Piraten managed to win second period 19-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Rocks dominated down low during the game scoring 38 of its points in the paint compared to Worthersee Piraten's 18. They outrebounded Worthersee Piraten 46-30 including 17 on the offensive glass. It was a great evening for American power forward Gary Ware (205-83, college: Purdue) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 15 rebounds. Canadian center Corey Hallett (210-84, college: Monmouth) helped adding 17 points and 8 rebounds. Five Rocks players scored in double figures. At the losing side Slovenian guard Elvis Keric (193-98) responded with 22 points and 5 assists and guard Lukas Simoner (190-99) scored 11 points and 8 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Rocks maintains first place with 16-3 record. Worthersee Piraten lost third consecutive game. They keep the eighth position with 11 games lost. Rocks will meet at home Lions (#4) in the next round. Worthersee Piraten will play against Nord Dragonz (#11) in Eisenstadt and hope to secure a win.
