Another exciting game was played in Vienna between fifth ranked UBC St. Polten and 6th ranked Flames where UBC St. Polten (11-8) beat Flames (10-9) on the road 71-66. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Flames. It looked good early as Flames took a 8-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then UBC St. Polten had a 24-11 second period charge getting the lead and Flames were not able to take back game control losing it eventually 66-71. UBC St. Polten forced 20 Flames turnovers and outrebounded them 42-30 including 31 on the defensive glass. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Christopher Boeck (188-88) who helped to win the game recording 23 points. The former international Martin Speiser (202-83) contributed with 10 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. Naturalized Argentinian forward Fabricio Vay (207-86, agency: Interperformances) answered with a double-double by scoring 30 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists and guard Dominik Alturban (190-85) added 6 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Flames. UBC St. Polten maintains fifth place with 11-8 record. Flames at the other side keep the sixth position with nine games lost. They share it with Mustangs. UBC St. Polten will play against bottom-ranked Deutsch-Wagram (#12) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Flames will play against the league's second-placed Blackbirds (#2) in Jennersdorf and hope to get back on the winning track.
