Regular Season Round 22: Turk Telekom - Besiktas 78-90

There was a small surprise when fifth ranked Besiktas (10-11) beat their close opponent Turk Telekom (8-12) in Ankara 90-78 on Sunday. They outrebounded Turk Telekom 46-32 including a 28-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. Besiktas looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. Turk Telekom was plagued by 31 personal fouls down the stretch. Quite impressive performance for Ege Sun (-0) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 16 points and 15 rebounds. Cagdas Kayabasi (-0) contributed with 23 points (on 10-of-11 shooting from the field) for the winners. Four Besiktas players scored in double figures. Burak Gozeneli (-0) replied with 21 points and 6 rebounds and Yigit Ozkan (-1) added 19 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for Turk Telekom. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Besiktas maintains fifth position with 10-11 record which they share with defeated Turk Telekom. Turk Telekom lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the fifth place with 12 games lost. Besiktas will face higher ranked Ozel Gelisim Koleji (#4) in Izmir in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Turk Telekom's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Ankara TED Ankara.
