Second Stage Round 9: Gargzdu - Ereliai Mazeikiai 88-77

Not a big story in a game in Gargzdai where 14th ranked Ereliai Mazeikiai (12-24) was defeated by tenth ranked Gargzdu (17-16) 88-77. Gargzdu players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists. It was a good game for Vaidotas Peciukas (198-82, college: Hawaii) who led his team to a victory with 21 points and 6 assists. The former international Simonas Serapinas (197-82) contributed with 14 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Gargzdu's coach Simonas Serapinas allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Center Tomas Zdanavicius (203-96) answered with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 16 rebounds and guard Haroldas Saprykinas (187-95, college: Cal-Irvine) added 25 points (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) in the effort for Ereliai Mazeikiai. Four Ereliai Mazeikiai players scored in double figures. Gargzdu have a solid series of three victories in a row. Newly promoted Gargzdu maintains tenth place with 17-16 record. Ereliai Mazeikiai at the other side keeps the fourteenth position with 24 games lost. Gargzdu's next round opponent will be Ezerunas (#11) in Moletai.
