Very expected game when 13th ranked Salzkotten (4-17) lost at home to second ranked Hertener Loewen (17-4) 93-85 on Saturday. Strangely Salzkotten outrebounded Hertener Loewen 37-25 including 23 on the defensive glass. It was a very good performance for naturalized American Ryon Howard (198-84, college: Sacred Heart) who helped to win the game recording 19 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Forward Felix Neumann (201-90) contributed with 21 points for the winners. Four Hertener Loewen players scored in double figures. Swingman Felix Wenningkamp (195-88) replied with 23 points and guard Matthias Finke (190-87) added 15 points and 5 assists in the effort for Salzkotten. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Hertener Loewen have an impressive ten-game winning streak. They maintain second position in West with 17-4 record having just one point less than leader Duesseldorf. Salzkotten lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the thirteenth place with 17 games lost.
