Date: February 23, 2019
Very predictable result when second ranked Koblenz (18-2) won against at home 8th ranked Kaiserslautern (8-12) 95-81 on Saturday. It was a very good performance for guard Deon McDuffie (186-93, college: Rattelsdorf) who helped to win the game recording 19 points, 8 rebounds and 9 assists. Croatian-Bosnian power forward Valentin Jurkovic (209-94, agency: PEPI SPORT) contributed with 23 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Koblenz's coach Josip Bosnjak used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Forward Waldemar Nap (202-93) replied with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 10 rebounds (made all of his nine free throws !!!) and American power forward Aaron Ellis (205-87, college: Wichita St.) added 20 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Kaiserslautern. Five Koblenz and four Kaiserslautern players scored in double figures. Koblenz maintains second position in South-West with 18-2 record behind leader Duesseldorf. Loser Kaiserslautern keeps the eighth place with 12 games lost. Koblenz will face Mainz (#14) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them.
