Second Stage Round 10: Jonava - Zalgiris II 91-79

We should mention about the upset which took place in Jonava, where 9th ranked Zalgiris II (18-19) lost to twelfth ranked Jonava (15-21) in a road game 79-91. Jonava players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. The former international forward Martynas Linkevicius (197-85, agency: Octagon Europe) notched 25 points and 6 assists to lead the effort and forward Justas Furmanavicius (198-94, college: Mississippi) supported him with 21 points and 4 assists. Even 18 points and 8 rebounds by forward Erikas Venskus (205-0) did not help to save the game for Zalgiris II. Guard Rokas Jokubaitis (192-0) added 13 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players saving starting five for next games. Jonava have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain twelfth position with 15-21 record. Zalgiris II at the other side dropped to the tenth place with 19 games lost. Jonava's next round opponent will be higher ranked Ezerunas (#11) in Moletai and it may be quite challenging game.
