No shocking result in a game when sixth ranked Perlas (20-18) beat 8th ranked Delikatesas (18-21) in Vilnius 106-95 on Friday. Perlas forced 23 Delikatesas turnovers. Strangely Delikatesas outrebounded Perlas 32-20 including 24 on the defensive glass. They shot the lights out from three sinking 16 long-distance shots on high 59.3 percentage. Perlas looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. Forward Azuolas Tubelis (202-2) orchestrated the victory by scoring 27 points (perfect from the field making all twelve shots !!!). Forward Simas Jarumbauskas (197-0, agency: Octagon Europe) contributed with 12 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners. The former international power forward Sarunas Beniusis (206-93) answered with 32 points and 7 rebounds (on 14-of-18 shooting from the field) and Rokas Stankevicius (-0) added 16 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists in the effort for Delikatesas. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players saving starting five for next games. Perlas moved-up to fifth place. Loser Delikatesas keeps the eighth position with 21 games lost. Perlas will face Neptunas-Akv. (#7) in Klaipeda in the next round. Delikatesas will play at home against Telsiai and hope to win that game.
