Second Stage Round 11: Silute - Vytis 79-68

The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked Vytis (29-9) on the court of seventh ranked Silute on Friday night. Visitors were defeated by Silute 79-68. American guard Byron Sanford (183-93, college: Trevecca Naz.) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds. Swingman Evaldas Dziaugys (196-96) contributed with 18 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Point guard Paulius Semaska (185-93) answered with 19 points and 9 assists and center Aurelijus Pukelis (205-94) added 9 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Vytis. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Silute (19-17) moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Gargzdu. Vytis at the other side still keeps top position with nine games lost. Silute is looking forward to face higher ranked Palanga (#3) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Vytis will play against the league's second-placed Suduva-Mantinga and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
