At the losing side naturalized Afghani point guard Achmadschah Zazai (177-86) responded with 14 points, 8 rebounds and 9 assists and power forward Jannik Freese (211-86) scored 15 points and 5 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Hamburg's coach Mike Taylor tested ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Schalke moved-up to thirteenth place. Loser Hamburg keeps the second position with eight games lost. Schalke will meet higher ranked Kirchheim Knights (#12) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
