Regular Season Round 21: Sigortam.net ITU - Petkim 83-85

The biggest surprise of round 21 in TBL was guest Socar Petkim's (12-9) road victory over 7th ranked Sigortam.net ITU (11-10) 85-83 on Friday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Sigortam.net ITU. Socar Petkim looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Socar Petkim made 7 blocks. The best player for the winners was American power forward Markus Kennedy (206-91, college: SMU) who had a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!), 15 rebounds and 4 blocks (on 16-of-19 shooting from the field). Forward Mustafa Gorur (204-88, agency: 1x1 Sports) chipped in 12 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Chad Frazier (192-92, college: UAB) who recorded 23 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists and the other American import forward Jerome Frink (201-93, college: LIU Brooklyn) added 15 points and 9 rebounds respectively. Four Sigortam.net ITU players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Socar Petkim moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Akhisar Bld. Sigortam.net ITU at the other side dropped to the eighth position with ten games lost. They share it with Manisa and Yeni Mamak. Socar Petkim is looking forward to face Yeni Mamak (#8) at home in the next round. Sigortam.net ITU will play against Akhisar Bld and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
