The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked Cankaya (22-2) in Ankara on Friday night. Hosts were defeated by sixth ranked Akdeniz U. (15-9) 102-85. It ended at the same time the nine-game winning streak of Cankaya. It was a good game for American point guard Brene Moseley (170, college: Maryland, agency: LBM Management) who led her team to a victory with 58 points (!!!) and 6 assists. Forward Belgin Onbasi (177-82) contributed with 10 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Akdeniz U.'s coach used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American center Sasha Goodlett (195-90, college: Georgia Tech) replied with 33 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds and center Derin Yaya (174-97, agency: 1andBox Sports Agency) added 15 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists in the effort for Cankaya. Akdeniz U. have a solid three-game winning streak. Newly promoted Akdeniz U. maintains sixth position with 15-9 record. Cankaya at the other side still keeps top place with two games lost. Akdeniz U. are looking forward to face bottom-ranked Istanbul U.G (#16) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game.
