Regular Season Round 23: Langen - HAKRO Merlins II 86-77

There was no surprise when 11th ranked HAKRO Merlins II (7-14) lost on the road to fifth ranked TV Langen (11-10) 86-77 on Saturday. American forward Christopher Edward (201, college: Concordia, OR) orchestrated the victory by scoring 20 points and 8 rebounds. Forward Ruben Spoden (202-89) contributed with 17 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Five TV Langen players scored in double figures. British forward Joshua Guddemi (201-94, college: New Haven) answered with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 12 rebounds and British guard Liam Carpenter (187-96) added 22 points in the effort for HAKRO Merlins II. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for TV Langen. They maintain fifth place in South-West with 11-10 record. Loser HAKRO Merlins II dropped to the twelfth position with 14 games lost. TV Langen will face Kronberg (#13) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. HAKRO Merlins II will play against Stuttgart and hope to win that game.
