Regular Season Round 21: Piraten - BBU S. 94-70
Date: March 2, 2019
Rather expected game in Klagenfurt where 10th ranked BBU (7-14) was crushed by eighth ranked Worthersee Piraten (10-11) 94-70 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Worthersee Piraten. BBU managed to win fourth quarter 28-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Worthersee Piraten looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was Slovenian guard Elvis Keric (193-98) who had a double-double by scoring 23 points and 10 assists. Slovenian forward Matic Sirnik (198-91) chipped in 21 points and 7 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was Greek guard Dimitris Mouratoglou (197-84) who recorded 14 points and 4 assists and Serbian forward Goran Ostojic (206-91) added 13 points and 6 rebounds respectively. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Worthersee Piraten moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Flames. BBU lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the tenth position with 14 games lost. Worthersee Piraten will meet higher ranked Mustangs (#6) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. BBU will play against Lions (#4) and hope to secure a win.
