Regular Season Round 24: Salzkotten - Hagen BG 76-85

There was no surprise when 13th ranked Salzkotten (4-18) was defeated at home by third ranked Hagen BG (16-6) 85-76 on Saturday. Hagen BG shot 28 for 42 from the free-throw line, while Salzkotten only scored nine points from the stripe. Salzkotten was plagued by 33 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of center Alexander Kortenbreer (217-95) who helped to win the game recording 18 points, 6 rebounds and 4 blocks and Spanish Jorge Tejera (200-92) who added 15 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. Four Hagen BG players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was guard Matthias Finke (190-87) with 15 points and point guard Dominik Wolf (185-94) scored 16 points. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Hagen BG maintains third position in West with 16-6 record having three points less than leader Duesseldorf. Salzkotten lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the thirteenth place with 18 games lost. Hagen BG will face Recklinghausen (#7) at home in the next round. Salzkotten will play against Kamp-Lintfort (#14) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
