There was a minor upset in Quakenbrueck where 10th ranked Walter Tigers (13-14) were defeated by twelfth ranked Artland Dragons (12-15) 98-94 on Saturday. Artland Dragons looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. It was a great evening for American guard Pierre Bland (188-92, college: PFW) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 7 rebounds and 11 assists. His fellow American import guard Chase Griffin (190-83, college: Pepperdine) helped adding 27 points and 4 assists. Four Artland Dragons players scored in double figures. Artland Dragons' coach Florian Hartenstein used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. The best for the losing side was American point guard Tyler Laser (185-88, college: E.Illinois) with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 11 assists and center Enosch Wolf (215-90, college: Connecticut) produced a double-double by scoring 24 points and 10 rebounds. Newly promoted Artland Dragons maintains twelfth place with 12-15 record. Loser Walter Tigers keep the tenth position with 14 games lost. Artland Dragons will face bottom-ranked Baunach (#16) on the road in the next round.
