Another interesting game was a derby match between two teams from Istanbul: Fenerbahce (#1) and Darussafaka (#3). Darussafaka was defeated at home 70-75 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Darussafaka. Fenerbahce players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. It was a good game for center Ismail Karabilen (206) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 13 rebounds. Forward Efe Tirpanci (200-0) contributed with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Fenerbahce's coach allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Forward Cagdas Atbas (200-0) replied with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists and forward Engin Kalkan (203-0) added 13 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists in the effort for Darussafaka. Four Darussafaka players scored in double figures. Fenerbahce maintains first position with 19-3 record. Darussafaka at the other side keeps the third place with five games lost. Fenerbahce's supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Istanbul to the arena Besiktas.
