Regular Season Round 24: Herzogenaurach - Bamberg 71-68

A very interesting game took place in Herzogenaurach. It ended with only three-point defeat on the road of 5th ranked Bamberg (11-10) to seventh ranked Herzogenaurach (12-9) 71-68 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Bamberg. Herzogenaurach forced 21 Bamberg turnovers. 29 personal fouls committed by Bamberg helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a good game for Ben Gahlert (203-0) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 16 rebounds. Forward Patrick Horstmann (201-87, college: Keiser) contributed with 20 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Four Herzogenaurach players scored in double figures. Herzogenaurach's coach Nikola Jocic allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Forward Daniel Eisenhardt (200-96) replied with 17 points and 9 rebounds and guard Michael Lachmann (192-89) added 16 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Bamberg. Herzogenaurach moved-up to fifth place in South-East. Bamberg at the other side dropped to the seventh position with ten games lost. Herzogenaurach's next round opponent will be Vilsbiburg (#9) on the road. Bamberg will play against Schwabing and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
