Not a big story in a game when 8th ranked Team Bonn/Rh. (3-12) was outscored by third ranked Ruhr (10-5) in Essen 86-63 on Sunday. Ruhr had a 36-25 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a very good performance for Erik Neusel (204-0) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds. Nils Peters (198-0) contributed with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Five Ruhr players scored in double figures. Ruhr's coach Thorsten Morzuch felt very confident that he used entire bench and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Maximilian Koerner (199-2) answered with 15 points and 8 rebounds and Aaron Isah (196-0) added 12 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Team Bonn/Rh.Ruhr maintains third place in Group 2 with 10-5 record having just two points less than leader ALBA Berlin. Team Bonn/Rh. lost their sixth game in a row. They keep the eighth position with 12 games lost. Ruhr will face BA Weser-Ems (#7) in Oldenburg in the next round. Team Bonn/Rh. will play at home against BG Goettingen and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
