Very predictable result when tenth ranked Manisa (12-11) defeated at home bottom-ranked Edirne (2-21) 92-75 on Saturday. Manisa dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Edirne's 24. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. It was a great evening for American guard Derrick Marks (190-93, college: Boise St.) who led his team to a victory scoring 26 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. His fellow American import center Devin Searcy (208-89, college: Dayton) helped adding 20 points and 8 rebounds. Manisa's coach used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Forward Oguzhan Sungur (205-91) responded with 14 points and 8 rebounds and Oguzhan Yarol (195-98) scored 10 points and 8 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Manisa moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Akhisar Bld and Yeni Mamak. Edirne lost their sixteenth game in a row. Edirne at the other side, also newcomer in the league, stay dead last with 21 lost games. Manisa will face higher ranked Selcuklu (#5) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Edirne will play against the league's leader Bursaspor (#1) and will have a slim chance for a victory.
