Regular Season Round 25: Vechta II - Wolmirstedt 92-90

A very interesting game took place in Vechta. It ended with only two-point defeat on the road of 3rd placed Wolmirstedt (17-8) to seventh ranked Vechta-2 (12-11) 92-90 on Saturday evening. Vechta-2 made 19-of-23 charity shots (82.6 percent) during the game. They brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. American forward Kaimyn Pruitt (203-90, college: Adams St.) nailed a double-double by scoring 13 points, 15 rebounds and 5 assists for the winning side and point guard Malte Stenzel (182-98) accounted for 19 points and 5 assists. Vechta-2's coach Hanno Stein used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. American guard Garrett Jefferson (190-91, college: Cal.Baptist) came up with 28 points and 7 rebounds (made all of his eleven free throws !!!) and forward Julius Stahl (195-95) added 22 points and 10 rebounds respectively for Wolmirstedt in the defeat. Five Vechta-2 and four Wolmirstedt players scored in double figures. The victory was the third consecutive win for Vechta-2. They moved-up to sixth place in North. Wolmirstedt lost their sixth game in a row. Newly promoted team keeps the third position with eight games lost. Vechta-2's next round opponent will be Cuxhaven (#12) on the road which should be theoretically an easy game.
