Regular Season Round 16: Rivne - Frankivsk 66-69

The most exciting game of round 16 in the Superleague took place in Rivne. This derby game ended with only three-point home defeat of 5th ranked BK Rivne (13-14) to third ranked Frankivsk (17-8) 69-66 on Sunday evening. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of BK Rivne. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But BK Rivne won fourth quarter 21-18. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Frankivsk had a 36-21 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Olha Sivakova (170-92) who helped to win the game recording 19 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists and the former international center Miriam Uro-Nile (188-94, agency: LBM Management) who added 18 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. At the losing side guard Viktoriya Shmatova (170-87) responded with a double-double by scoring 21 points, 5 rebounds, 10 assists and 4 steals and center Tetiana Havrylchyk (193-0) produced a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds. Frankivsk have an impressive eight-game winning streak. Newly promoted Frankivsk maintains third position with 17-8 record having nine points less than leader Dynamo-NPU. BK Rivne at the other side keeps the fifth place with 14 games lost. Frankivsk are looking forward to face league's leader Dynamo-NPU in Kyiv in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. BK Rivne will play on the road against Vinnystkiye M. (#8) in Vinnytsia and is hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
