Regular Season Round 25: Neptunas - Lietkabelis 72-74

The most exciting game of round 25 in the LKL took place in Klaipeda. This derby game ended with only two-point home defeat of much higher ranked Neptunas (19-6) to fourth ranked Lietkabelis (15-10) 74-72 on Sunday evening. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Neptunas. The guests trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 33-29 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Center Mindaugas Kupsas (217-91, agency: Octagon Europe) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds for the winners and the former international Simas Jasaitis (202-82) chipped in 9 points and 7 rebounds. At the losing side American guard Kyle Weaver (198-86, college: Washington St., agency: Octagon Europe) responded with 15 points and 4 assists and the other American import power forward Jerai Grant (203-89, college: Clemson, agency: Octagon Europe) scored 8 points and 6 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Lietkabelis maintains fourth place with 15-10 record. Neptunas at the other side keeps the second position with six games lost. Lietkabelis are looking forward to face Dzukija (#8) in Alytus in the next round. Neptunas will play on the road against Nevezis (#10) in Kedainiai and is hoping to win this game.
