Second Stage Round 3: Lemvig - Stevnsgade 84-80

The game between Stevnsgade (1-2) and Lemvig (1-2) was the most important one in the last round on Wednesday night. Stevnsgade was defeated by Lemvig in a tough game in Lemvig 80-84. Stevnsgade was trailing by 2 points at halftime but managed to get 6-point lead after three quarters before a 28-18 charge of Lemvig, which allowed them to win the game. Lemvig outrebounded Stevnsgade 51-32 including a 33-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was American point guard Aniese Palmore (165-94, college: Montana-West, agency: S.M.W.W.) who had a double-double by scoring 27 points and 16 rebounds. Her fellow American import guard Natalee Faupel (178-95, college: MSU-Northern) chipped in 18 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists. Palmore is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international guard Rikke Fabricius (184-92, college: Cent.Michigan) who recorded a double-double by scoring 17 points and 11 rebounds and the former international forward Hanna Sheikh (180-92) added 20 points and 8 rebounds respectively. Four Stevnsgade players scored in double figures. Lemvig is looking forward to face SISU (#4) in Copenhagen in the next round. Stevnsgade will play at home against Horsholm and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
