Kircicegi B.'s fans can finally celebrate the first win of their team after 22 consecutive losses. They used home court advantage to defeat Istanbul Uni (1-22) 69-66 on Saturday. It was an exceptional evening for forward Beril Albayrak (180-97) who led the winners and scored 24 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line). American center Tearra Banks (188-95, college: Austin Peay St.) accounted for 15 points and 14 rebounds for the winning side. Four Kircicegi B. players scored in double figures. American guard Imani Watkins (173-96, college: Binghamton, agency: Two Points) came up with 22 points and 7 rebounds and forward Feride Sevval (180-1) added 11 points and 8 rebounds respectively for Istanbul Uni in the defeat. Kircicegi B. left bottom position moving up to thirteenth place, which they share with Istanbul Univ. It was Istanbul Uni's thirteenth loss in a row. Kircicegi B. will meet at home higher ranked Hatay (#3) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Istanbul Uni will play against Kayseri (#10) and hope to win that game.
