Second Stage Round 13: Targu Mures - Agronomia 74-59

Rather expected game when 5th ranked Agronomia (6-16) was defeated on the road by second ranked Targu Mures (14-8) 74-59 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Targu Mures. Agronomia managed to win fourth quarter 22-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Agronomia to just 7 points in first quarter. They outrebounded Agronomia 41-27 including a 34-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. Targu Mures looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Agronomia's players. Swingman Bianca Voica (170-91) fired 25 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Center Kata Meszaros (192-90) chipped in 18 points. Center Mihaela Chelariu (186-92) produced 14 points and 6 rebounds and Maria Militaru added 12 points respectively for lost side. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Targu Mures keep a position of league leader, which they share with Rapid. Newly promoted Agronomia keeps the fifth place with 16 games lost. They share the position with Alexandria.
