Regular Season Round 23: Cukurova - Canik Belediye 158-63

KBSL top team - Cukurova (22-1) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed twelfth ranked Canik Belediye (6-17) in Mersin 158-63. Cukurova well out of reach of Canik Belediye shooting 72.2 percent from the field. They also forced 19 Canik Belediye turnovers and outrebounded them 59-19 including a 50-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. Cukurova shot the lights out from three nailing 21 long-distance shots on high 61.8 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 57 assists comparing to just 17 passes made by Canik Belediye's players. The best player for the winners was American center Kelsey Bone (193-91, college: Texas A&M) who had a double-double by scoring 29 points and 10 rebounds (on 13-of-15 shooting from the field). Ukrainian swingman Alina Iagupova (186-92, agency: LBM Management) chipped in a double-double by scoring 26 points and 12 assists (perfect from the field making all ten shots !!!). Five Cukurova players scored in double figures. Guard Dilara Tongar (169-91) produced 21 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists and point guard Gulsah Duman (177-93) added 17 points and 7 assists respectively for the guests. Cukurova maintains first place with 22-1 record. Canik Belediye lost their eighth game in a row. They keep the twelfth position with 17 games lost. Cukurova's next round opponent will be Besiktas (#7) in Istanbul which should be theoretically another easy game. Canik Belediye will play at home against Ormanspor (#8) and hope to win that game.
