There was no surprise when 11th ranked Rosenheim (9-14) was defeated at home by fourth ranked Treuchtlingen (15-8) 78-62 on Saturday. Rosenheim was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was swingman Peter Zeis (196-89) who scored 29 points and 7 rebounds. Swingman Florian Beierlein (195-95) chipped in 18 points and 6 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Italian forward Roberto Malpede (198-88) produced a double-double by scoring 12 points, 15 rebounds and 4 assists and American point guard Jguwon Hogges (173-86, college: Oregon Tech) added 17 points and 4 steals respectively for the hosts. Four Rosenheim players scored in double figures. Rosenheim's coach Bob Miller tested eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Treuchtlingen have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place in South-East, which they share with TSV Troester. Loser Rosenheim dropped to the tenth position with 14 games lost. Treuchtlingen will face league's second-placed Topstar in Diedorf in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week.
