Rather expected game in Bucuresti where 5th ranked Medias (1-7) were rolled over by third ranked Steaua B. (6-2) 84-60 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Steaua B.. Medias was better in second period 14-11. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Steaua B. forced 20 Medias turnovers. The best player for the winners was American power forward Skylar Spencer (206-94, college: San Diego St.) who scored 12 points and 7 rebounds. The other American import point guard Austin Chatman (183-93, college: Creighton, agency: SDJ Sports) chipped in 16 points. Serbian Stefan Sajin (205-93) produced a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds and the former international Titus Nicoara (203-88, agency: Interperformances) added 13 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Steaua B. have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 6-2 record behind leader Targu Mures. Medias lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team keep the fifth place with seven games lost. Steaua B. will face league's second-placed Voluntari in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Medias will play against the league's leader CS Dinamo Bucuresti and hope to win that game.
