Second Stage Round 3: Ternopil-TNEU - Niko-Basket 100-72

There was no surprise when Niko-Basket (4-11) was crushed on the road by Ternopil-TNEU (11-4) 100-72 on Friday. The game without a history. Ternopil-TNEU led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Ternopil-TNEU outrebounded Niko-Basket 43-31 including 28 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Niko-Basket's players. It was a great evening for center Yevgen Vornik (208-86) who led his team to a victory scoring 27 points and 7 rebounds. Guard Mykyta Naiko (197-92) helped adding 18 points. Ternopil-TNEU's coach Dmitry Zabirchenko felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was swingman Maksym Ozhegov (190-90) with 18 points and 7 rebounds and point guard Mark Bodnar (185-98) scored 13 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Ternopil-TNEU will again meet at home Niko-Basket (#6) in the next round. Niko-Basket will have a break next round.
