A very interesting game took place in Giessen. It ended with only one-point home defeat of 12th ranked Giessen 46ers (11-15) to fifteenth ranked Crailsheim Merlins (7-18) 115-114 on Saturday evening. Crailsheim Merlins players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists. The best player for the winners was American point guard Frank Turner (178-88, college: Canisius, agency: Inception Sports) who scored 25 points and 6 assists. Australian swingman Ben Madgen (193-85, college: Augusta) chipped in 20 points and 6 rebounds. Crailsheim Merlins' coach Tuomas Iisalo allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. American center John Bryant (211-87, college: Santa Clara) produced a double-double by scoring 30 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists and his fellow American import point guard Jared Jordan (187-84, college: Marist) added 16 points and 13 assists respectively for the hosts. Five Crailsheim Merlins and four Giessen 46ers players scored in double figures. Crailsheim Merlins moved-up to fourteenth place, which they share with Goettingen.
