The game between closely ranked teams ended with 16th ranked Edirne's (2-23) road loss to fifteenth ranked Ankara D.S.I. (7-18) 67-87 on Saturday. Ankara D.S.I. dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Edirne's 32. Ankara D.S.I. forced 29 Edirne turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. It was a very good performance for the former international forward Osman Sirin (207-90, college: Charlotte) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 21 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists. American center David Weaver (207-87, college: Wake Forest) contributed with 19 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Ankara D.S.I.'s coach used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Center Ismail Esmeray (207-86) answered with 24 points and 7 rebounds (made all of his ten free throws !!!) and center Dogancan Tokmak (205-92) added 21 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Edirne. Ankara D.S.I. moved-up to fourteenth place, which they share with Yalova Bld. Edirne lost their eighteenth game in a row. Newly promoted team stay dead last with 23 lost games. Ankara D.S.I. will face higher ranked Konyaspor (#6) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Edirne will play against Karesi Spor (#4) having rather not much hope for a victory.
