Regular Season Round 27: Neustadt TSV - Goetting.ASC 83-107

Everything went according to plan when second ranked Goetting.ASC (21-5) outplayed on the road 8th ranked Neustadt TSV (12-14) 107-83 on Saturday. Goetting.ASC forced 21 Neustadt TSV turnovers. It was a good game for swingman Jorge Schmidt (193-85) who led his team to a victory with 33 points (!!!). Swingman Nick Boakye (197-95) contributed with 20 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Goetting.ASC had such big advantage that coach Sebastian Foerster felt comfortable to give the chance to play for 11 players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Dutch point guard Dyon Doekhi (188-87) answered with 21 points and 6 rebounds and American guard Brandon Roberts (185-94, college: Al.-Huntsville) added 16 points and 4 steals in the effort for Neustadt TSV. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The victory was the eleventh consecutive win for Goetting.ASC. They maintain second place in North with 21-5 record behind leader Duesseldorf. Loser Neustadt TSV keeps the eighth position with 14 games lost. Goetting.ASC will face league's leader RSV Eintracht in Stahnsdorf in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Neustadt TSV will play on the road against Bergedorf (#8) in Hamburg and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
