The game in Istanbul was also quite interesting. Fourth ranked Gaziantep (14-8) played at the court of 7th ranked Acibadem (11-11). Gaziantep managed to secure a 6-point victory 92-86 on Saturday. Gaziantep outrebounded Acibadem 30-15 including 21 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists. It was a great evening for Nigerian center Tonye Jekiri (213-94, college: Miami, FL) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 13 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists. Lithuanian point guard Sarunas Vasiliauskas (188-89, agency: Players Group) helped adding 18 points and 7 assists. Five Gaziantep players scored in double figures. American guard Manny Harris (196-89, college: Michigan) responded with 39 points (!!!) and the other American import power forward Marcus Slaughter (204-85, college: San Diego St.) scored 13 points and 6 rebounds (perfect from the field making all six shots). Gaziantep maintains fourth place with 14-8 record. Newly promoted Acibadem keeps the seventh position with 11 games lost. They share it with Besiktas. Gaziantep will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Acibadem's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Istanbul to the arena Anadolu Efes.
