There was no surprise when 15th ranked ALBA-2 (3-23) was outleveled on the road by eleventh ranked Aschersleben (11-14) 90-71 on Saturday. Aschersleben dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to ALBA-2's 24. Aschersleben forced 25 ALBA-2 turnovers. It was a good game for Pakistani Salman Manzur (205-96) who led his team to a victory with 18 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Lithuanian swingman Lukas Kazlauskas (188-92) contributed with 15 points, 5 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 steals (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!) for the winners. American-Bosnian Abdulah Kameric (190-0) answered with 16 points and Joshua Luebken (211-0) added 14 points in the effort for ALBA-2. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. The victory was the third consecutive win for Aschersleben. They maintain eleventh place in North with 11-14 record. ALBA-2 lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the fifteenth position with 23 games lost. Aschersleben will face higher ranked Wolmirstedt (#3) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. ALBA-2 will play against Langenhagen (#13) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
