Higher League top team - Prometey (15-1) had no problems winning another game on Saturday. This time they crushed fifth ranked Khimik-2 (6-10) in Yuzhny 119-58. The game without a history. Prometey led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Khimik-2 to just 7 points in third quarter. Prometey dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Khimik-2's 30. They outrebounded Khimik-2 59-19 including a 21-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. Prometey looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Khimik-2's players. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Prometey made 7 blocks. The winners were led by American point guard Supreme Hannah (181-94, college: Daemen) who scored that evening 20 points and 8 assists and Maks-Adam Konate (202-91) supported him with 18 points and 10 rebounds. Even 12 points by point guard Ruslan Ivashov (182-2) did not help to save the game for Khimik-2. Point guard Oleksandr Kovliar (180-2) added 13 points for lost side. Five Prometey and four Khimik-2 players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Prometey have a solid four-game winning streak. Newly promoted Prometey maintains first position with 15-1 record. Khimik-2 lost third consecutive game. They keep the fifth place with ten games lost. Prometey will meet at home league's second-placed Rivne-OSHVSM in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Khimik-2 will play against Mariupol and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
