UMMC stormed past MBA to take 1-0 lead. MMC Ekaterinburg well out of reach of MBA shooting 71.2 percent from the field and made 23-of-28 charity shots (82.1 percent) during the game, while MBA only scored four points from the stripe. They outrebounded MBA 36-14 including a 27-9 advantage in defensive rebounds. UMMC Ekaterinburg players were unselfish on offense dishing 31 assists. MBA was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Kayla McBride (180-92, college: Notre Dame) who helped to win the game recording 19 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. International center Maria Vadeeva (193-98) contributed with 19 points and 5 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners. Five UMMC Ekaterinburg players scored in double figures. The former international point guard Karina Nizamova (170-92) answered with 22 points (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) and the former international swingman Alexandra Stolyar (180-92) added 9 points in the effort for MBA. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games.
