Regular Season Round 27: Ibbenbueren - Herford 92-98

Rather predictable result when fifth ranked Herford (18-7) won against on the road 8th ranked Ibbenbueren (11-14) 98-92 on Saturday. Herford made 20-of-26 free shots (76.9 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was a good game for American guard Sam Cassell-Jr (193-92, college: Iona) who led his team to a victory with 32 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line). British forward Elliott Sentance (193-94, college: Lethbridge) contributed with a triple-double by scoring 24 points, 10 rebounds, 10 assists and 4 steals for the winners. Guard Omar Zemhoute (190-91) answered with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 6 rebounds and 10 assists and American guard Denzel Johnson (190, college: Santa Clara) added 24 points and 4 assists in the effort for Ibbenbueren. Four Herford and five Ibbenbueren players scored in double figures. The victory was the third consecutive win for Herford. They moved-up to third place in West, which they share with Dorsten and Hagen BG. Loser Ibbenbueren keeps the eighth position with 14 games lost. Herford will face Recklinghausen (#8) at home in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Ibbenbueren will play against Leverkusen FB and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
