Seventh-ranked Academic PL (5-14) used its home court advantage to challenge fifth ranked Septemvri 97 (11-8) in Plovdiv on Saturday. The visitors from Sofia managed to secure only two-point victory 78-76. However their fans expected easier game. Septemvri 97 forced 36 Academic PL turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Konstantina Kakogiani (175-1) who helped to win the game recording 30 points and 4 assists. Guard Ivona Ilieva (180-98) contributed with 17 points, 7 rebounds, 7 assists and 6 steals for the winners. Septemvri 97's coach used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. The former international forward Anna Rimpova (183-82) replied with a triple-double by scoring 17 points, 15 rebounds and 11 assists and point guard Borislava Hristova (161-98) added 19 points and 5 assists in the effort for Academic PL. Four Academic PL players scored in double figures. Septemvri 97 maintains fifth position in Places 5-8 with 11-8 record. Newly promoted Academic PL dropped to the sixth place with 14 games lost. They share the position with Champion 2006 and NSA. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
