No shocking result in a game when sixth ranked Telekom Baskets (14-10) beat 16th ranked Mitteldeutscher BC (5-20) in Bonn 105-98 on Sunday. Telekom Baskets shot 62.7 percent from the field. They shot the lights out from three sinking 14 long-distance shots on high 60.9 percentage. Telekom Baskets looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists. American point guard Josh Mayo (181-87, college: UIC, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) orchestrated the victory by scoring 21 points and 7 assists. Naturalized American guard TJ DiLeo (190-90, college: Temple) contributed with 17 points and 9 assists for the winners. Telekom Baskets' coach Christopher O'Shea used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Naturalized American forward Sergio Kerusch (195-89, college: WKU) replied with 26 points and 6 rebounds and Serbian point guard Jovan Novak (188-94, agency: BeoBasket) added 21 points in the effort for Mitteldeutscher BC. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Telekom Baskets have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain sixth position with 14-10 record. Loser Mitteldeutscher BC keeps the sixteenth place with 20 games lost. Telekom Baskets will face higher ranked Brose Baskets (#4) in Bamberg in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Mitteldeutscher BC will play at home against Science City Jena (#18) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
