AEK Larnaca upset Etha to take 2-0 lead in the series. The game was mostly controlled by AEK Larnaca. Etha was better in second period 22-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Belarusian-Russian forward Vladimir Veremeenko (208-84) notched 13 points and 9 rebounds to lead the effort and the former international guard Iakovos Panteli (187-85) supported him with 13 points. Four AEK Larnaca players scored in double figures. Even 24 points and 7 rebounds by American Chris Flemmings (197-94, college: UNCW) did not help to save the game for Etha. Norwegian forward Karamo Jawara (203-91, college: NC Central) added 11 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists for the hosts. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
